One of our top clients needs your top skills for an immediate SQL Server DBA position. POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains the integrity and integration of enterprise Business Intelligence data systems; assures data integration using a managed and documented extract, transform, load (ETL) middle tier; maintains and mentors database modeling and programming standards, procedures and best practices; and maintains the enterprise data dictionary. This position directly supports application developers, Reporting Services team members and Production Support Database Administrators (DBAs). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Prepares loads using appropriate ETL methods to integrate enterprise data between production-to-production, production-to-test, production-to-development, production-to-vendor/customer, and vendor/customer-to-production. 2. Develops and maintains the enterprise data dictionary. 3. Performs all beta database-related change management. 4. Performs OLAP and OLTP data modeling for enterprise systems. 5. Performs all enterprise data conversions, transformations, and migrations. 6. Works with QA and Database QA (DBQA) positions to assure data integrity on all enterprise data conversions, transformations, and migrations. 7. Prepares and maintains all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) documents for USIS-CSD. 8. Prepares and maintains data cleansing and scrubbing procedures. 9. Develops implements and maintains OLTP and OLAP database archiving procedures. 10. Monitors ETL jobs, automates error handling and optimizes the ETL process for better performance. 11. Responsible for designing indexing strategies for query performance on both OLTP and OLAP database structures. 12. Installs, configures, troubleshoots and administers all instances of SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services and Reporting Services. 13. Sets up and maintains SQL Server- level security on all instances of SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services. 14. Architects, recommends, and requests linked servers. 15. Provide accurate and timely documentation of work progress and resolution within trouble ticket tracking system. 16. Research new database technology and make recommendations to upper management regarding future technological paths. Acts as a subject matter expert on SQL Server Databases. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, OR successful completion of at least 50 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, OR high school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Advanced expertise in T-SQL including stored procedures and functions. System Administration-level expertise in SQL Server 2005, SQL Server Analysis Services (SAS); SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SRS). Intermediate to advanced development expertise in Data Transformation Services (DTS); SSIS, SRS, and SAS. Has a strong background in OLTP data structures; OLAP architecture design, data warehouse data models, and star schema concepts. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and research skills Demonstrated technical writing skills and ability to document systems and/or procedures.
